Carolina Herrera is a world renown name. For years, the name has been part of the fashion industry being featured on almost every news media outlet channel you could think of. With Carolina Herrera’s first collection launching in 1981, and her last one in 2018 when she ended her “four decade career by displaying 20 pristine white blouses.” Her retirement where she displayed these blouses happened during the 2018 Autumn/Winter Indigital. Anyhow, throughout four decades, you can imagine the amount of work she has contributed to. In this article however, we will be taking the time to research Carolina Herrera’s involvement in the perfume industry. We’ll start off looking into the first perfume she designed and where she drew inspiration from. Then we’ll see how many perfumes she has launched since her first release, how many perfumes the brand launched following their first release, and finally, how many perfumes has the brand released in the last 3 years (2023, 2024, and 2025).
Let’s start off by diving into the first perfume that Carolina Herrera personally was involved in. This perfume was named Carolina Herrera, and it was a dedication to her beautiful place of birth, which has been controlled by a murderous communist regime for over 25 years now, Venezuela. She didn’t know it then, her beautiful country where “[She] was very lucky to be surrounded by beautiful things, interesting people with grace and manners and an appreciation for literature, art and culture.” would soon be diseased by the disgusting and unfathomable drug cartel leader Chavez, who later on handed down the regime to a character just as repugnant and unfathomable as Nicolas Maduro.
Back to Carolina Herrera’s first perfume, it was launched in 1988, and packed in what Team Elle refers to as “a handsome Art Deco bottle shaped like a drop of gold” in their article "The Dramatic And Fabulous Evolution of Carolina Herrera". In my opinion the bottle looks more like a gold bar rather than a "drop of gold". I also must say that the color of the fragrance itself, canary yellow, does remind me of the landscapes one would find in the country of Venezuela. The fragrance, as Team Elle describes, is composed of "hints of tuberose, apricot, sandalwood, and jasmine". While looking at The Perfume Society’s perfume house profile "Carolina Herrera", we were able to come across some interesting facts regarding the 1988 Carolina Herrera fragrance. For instance, the 1988 Carolina Herrera fragrance was launched with a men’s scent in 1991. Later on, in 1996, Carolina Herrera’s daughter joined the fragrance house as Creative Director. While looking through the internet, we found this video by the Carolina Herrera YouTube channel, it’s the 25th anniversary of her Carolina Herrera fragrance and it was posted 11 years ago. You can see how important this fragrance is for her and where she drew inspiration from by watching this video. You can also absorb the amount of significance the fragrance holds for her daughter, as she mentions always feeling the scent on her mother.

I hope that was enough for you to get some insight into Carolina Herrera’s first fragrance. Now, let’s talk about Carolina Herrera’s total number of perfumes released. Here at JeanSmellGood.com we have a couple of Carolina Herrera’s perfumes and you can take a look at them here. By looking at the Fragrantica.com website, we were able to count over 200 different colognes and perfumes, other sources suggest that there are around 150 perfumes and another 185. I’m not really sure what definitive number is for the amount of perfumes the perfume house has actually released. I guess that is something that someone will have to get in touch with CH press and media about.
