Chloe Perfume
Gaby Aghion started Chloe in Paris in 1952 and coined the phrase pret-a-porter for what she was doing - soft, unstructured clothes for women who did not want to be fitted into couture. The perfumes have carried that lightness ever since, and the house has stayed loyal to one flower in particular.
The 2008 Chloe Eau de Parfum is the reference point: a powdery, slightly soapy rose with peony and amber underneath, the sort of scent people describe as smelling clean rather than smelling like flowers. We have it in the 75 ml bottle and in gift set form. Love Story leans warmer and sweeter with orange blossom and neroli. Nomade moves the house somewhere else entirely - mirabelle plum and oakmoss, a modern chypre with more grip than anything else on this page. Chloe Love and a four piece variety set fill out the rest.
