Swiss Arabian

Swiss Arabian opened in Sharjah in 1974 and is one of the oldest perfume houses in the Emirates. The name comes from an original pairing of Swiss compounding technique with Arabian materials, and the company still makes a great deal of what it sells rather than outsourcing it.

Five of our seven listings come from the 01 series, which is unusually disciplined: each 1.7 oz extrait de parfum takes a single material and builds around it. Incense 01 is dry frankincense with almost no distraction. Patchouli 01 is earthy and slightly damp. Tobacco 01 is leaf rather than sweetened pipe tobacco. Musk 01 is clean and skin like. Vanilla 01 is the warmest, and about the least sugary vanilla you will find at this concentration. Together they work almost like a materials library.

The other two are fuller compositions. Essence of Casablanca is a 3.4 oz eau de parfum, floral and warm rather than single minded, opening on green apple and grape. Shaghaf Nectar Blush is a 1.7 oz eau de parfum built on yuzu and Williams pear over gardenia and magnolia, closing on vanilla, tonka and Peru balsam.

These are full bottle listings with no decant option. Given how focused the 01 range is, smelling them in person is genuinely useful, and they all sit together on one shelf in Miami Gardens.
