Clive Christian

This house sits on top of the Crown Perfumery, an English perfumer that Queen Victoria permitted to use her crown on its bottles in the 1870s. Clive Christian revived the name at the end of the nineties, kept the crown, and built a line around very high concentrations of costly naturals. For a stretch, No. 1 held a Guinness record as the most valuable perfume in the world, and the house has never been shy about that history.

We have three. Original Collection No. 1 Masculine in 50 ml is the one the reputation rests on - a dense, old school blend of bergamot, cardamom, sandalwood and vanilla that smells more like a nineteenth century apothecary than anything contemporary. Blonde Amber in 1.7 oz comes from the Noble collection, warmer and more resinous with a honeyed tobacco feel. VII Queen Anne Rock Rose in 50 ml is the labdanum heavy one, all sticky cistus and dry woods.

No. 1 Masculine and Rock Rose are both offered in 5 ml and 10 ml decants, which is the reasonable way to spend time with perfumes built at this concentration.

Smell them properly at our Miami Gardens store, where we can walk you through the differences, or order online and have them delivered.
