How was Bond No.9’s Founded?

Laurice Rahmé's Bond No.9 fragrance brand debuted in 2003. Rahmé's inspiration for Bond No.9 was the magnificent strength with which the people of New York City rebuilt their home after the 911 attacks. Who does not remember that awful morning. Laurice decided to call all the perfumers she knew in France and decided to do something about the awful smell of New York after those terrible attacks.

The Bond No.9 address was trademarked as the company's name. They took a map of New York and started trademarking famous street names. No one had thought of it at the time. They were all available for registration. The next question was the logo! After visiting a gift store in New York, Laurice got the idea of trademarking the logo she found on an old subway token. Although Laurice's Lawyer was sure that the logo on the token was trademarked, that was not the case! And so, Bond No.9's logo was born.

Laurice Rahmé is widely known as the first woman to lead a perfumery in New York. At Bond No.9, Rahmé has managed “concept and fragrance development along with designing bottles and boutique designs”. In 2015, Rahme earned the United Nations Women for Peace Award with her “New York civic-minded perfume”, The Scent of Peace.

Bond No.9’s Attention to Detail, Creativity, & Passion.

Bond No.9’s call to perfection can be seen in their beautifully crafted perfume bottles. Each detail on their bottles is unique, daring, and passionate. It takes tons of creativity to give each bottle its unique personality even though the bottle shapes are all the same. One can perceive Bond No.9’s call for innovation, detail, and passion when you look at their bottle designs. By the way! The bottle designs were thought of Laurice as a step away from the repetitiveness of square bottled fragrances. Laurice Rahmé explains the bottles are designed to represent a woman with a cap, shoulders, and a waist.

You can also see by Bond No.9’s website that the brand is onto something. With beautifully designed product catalogs, stunning photos which all hold up to a standard, and smooth flowing animations, it makes Bond No.9 stand firm or above against its competitors.

According to a text I found by Perfumaria, the imagery on the Bond No.9 bottles are inspired by Andy Warhol’s famous pop art. Perfumaria also adds that the glass bottles are fabricated by refined glass company Luigi Bormiolited.
