Giorgio Armani Acquadi Gio Profumo 4.2 oz Parfum (Discontinued)

Take the seawater brightness people recognize instantly from the original Acqua di Gio, then draw a veil of grey incense across it. That is Profumo. The opening still reads as bergamot and ocean spray, but there is smoke sitting underneath from the first minute, turning a beach fragrance into something that belongs at a dinner starting after dark. Alberto Morillas built it in 2015 as the deeper, more shadowed version of a scent Armani had already sold millions of, and the restraint is the whole trick. Nothing here shouts.

Eight hours is normal on skin and longer on a shirt collar, with projection that is moderate and deliberate rather than loud. Miami treats this one kindly for a specific reason: the incense and patchouli base is dry and mineral, so August humidity does not turn it sweet or syrupy the way it does to heavier ambers. What the heat does instead is lift the marine note and hold it in the air around you, which means the first hour is bigger outdoors here than it would be in a dry climate. Walking out of Brickell air conditioning into ninety percent humidity gives it a second opening. One honest caution: on a truly still, swampy afternoon the incense can read heavier than intended, so keep it to four sprays and let the fabric do some of the work.

Office safe without being invisible, and one of the few aquatics that does not feel out of place in December. Wear it to work, to dinner, to a wedding you are attending rather than hosting. It skews slightly formal, which is why it never became a gym-bag scent.

Armani has discontinued this formulation, so what exists is what exists. If you are weighing whether to commit to a fragrance that will not be restocked, the 5ml and 10ml decants are the sane way to find out first. Or come by the Miami Gardens shop and put it on skin in the actual weather it has to survive.
