Michael Malul Jet Black
Six eau de parfums from Michael Malul London, every one of them 3.4 oz / 100 ml, every one of them built for the hours after sunset. Jet Black is the house working in its darker register: spice, wood, amber and smoke instead of citrus and clean linen.
Enigma is the smokiest of the six, composed by Ilias Ermenidis. Cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper and ginger flare on the opening, saffron and labdanum wrap the heart over creamy vanilla, and the base sinks into tonka bean, cashmeran, agarwood and patchouli. Mahogany, from perfumer Clement Gavarry, is the woody one: cedrat, black pepper and cardamom cracking open onto violet leaf, geranium and cistus, with Haitian vetiver, oak chips and cedarwood settling in for the long haul.
Gavarry also composed Horizon, the most wearable of the group and the easiest to carry from a desk to a dinner table, with bergamot, clove bud and mint over lavender, orange blossom and clary sage, finishing on amber woods, coffee and patchouli. Intense is a fresh fougere, crisp apple, elemi and wild mint giving way to lavender, clary sage and juniper before it settles onto patchouli, vetiver root and suede.
The last two go sweet and dark. Platinum is an amber gourmand that runs spice and lavender into cinnamon and toffee, then into vanilla, suede and amber. Reserve is the quiet one, a woody amber of lavender, apple and cardamom lifted by a spark of white pepper before it lands on smooth amber and warm woods.
All six are authentic Michael Malul London and stocked as the full 100ml bottle. Smell them side by side at our Miami Gardens store, or order online and have one sent to you.
