Cold mint and lemon arriving at the same instant as crushed pink pepper - the opening genuinely does feel like stepping into water, which is presumably the point. 9am Dive is aromatic and aquatic without leaning on the tired ozonic accords that make so many blue fragrances interchangeable. Blackcurrant adds a tart, slightly dark edge up top. The middle is the interesting part: crisp apple set against incense and cedar, so a faint smoky-resinous thread runs underneath all that freshness. It dries down warmer than it began, with patchouli, sandalwood, jasmine and a touch of ginger giving it body. Fresh at the front, quietly spicy at the back.

Six to eight hours is realistic, with the first two doing most of the projecting. Here is the Miami consideration: mint and citrus are the first things humidity eats. In dry air that icy opening might hold for twenty minutes; on a muggy morning down here it can be gone in ten. What replaces it is the incense-and-cedar heart, which holds up considerably better than the top does, so plan around that. A morning application is largely a woody-spicy scent by the time you reach lunch. Sprayed onto a shirt rather than bare skin, the fresh opening hangs on noticeably longer.
