Rasasi Hawas Malibu Eau de Parfum 3.4 oz

Bright pineapple, and then something far smoother than you expect. The opening is juicy, pineapple with orange and grapefruit squeezed over it, but Hawas Malibu refuses to stay a fruit fragrance. Within half an hour iris and lavender pull it into cleaner, almost powdery territory, and a base of tonka bean, cashmeran and musk gives it a soft creamy warmth. The Hawas house signature is fresh and faintly salty; this is the sunniest version of it.

This one is close to purpose-built for the weather we actually get. The pineapple opening is loud for roughly forty-five minutes in the heat and then relaxes, and the cashmeran in the base is the part that really matters here - a warm, smooth note that does not go sour when you sweat, which is more than can be said for a lot of fruity openings in this climate. Eight hours is a fair expectation with a wide projection window through the first two. Humidity keeps it wet and glowing instead of sharp; dry AC air thins it slightly by comparison. Fair warning that it performs so willingly in August that three sprays is plenty and most people settle at two.

Daytime through evening, spring and summer, and it crosses over easily - Rasasi lists it for men and women and it wears unisex on skin. Office-friendly once the opening settles, though the first fifteen minutes do get attention. Good for outdoor events, pool days, and the sort of Miami evening that starts in daylight and ends very late.
