Creamy, buttery, unapologetically sweet white flowers over a vanilla-and-sandalwood bed - that is the whole idea, executed at extrait strength. Tuberose leads, softened immediately by peach and mandarin so it never gets that sharp green edge tuberose can have on its own. Gardenia and jasmine fill out the middle with a powdery orris underneath, and then vanilla, sandalwood and a whisper of vetiver ground the flowers so they read rich rather than syrupy. Nishane made it as part of their Rumi collection, a deliberate nod to the classic crowd-pleasing florals of perfume history, updated and turned up.

Longevity is exceptional - a full working day and then some, with the vanilla base still detectable on clothing the following day. Projection is the thing to manage. White florals and vanilla both swell in humidity, and Miami supplies plenty of it, so this fragrance carries far here. One spray at the base of the throat on a 90-degree afternoon does what two or three would do in a dry climate. Where it genuinely shines locally is the evening: once the sun drops and the air cools slightly, the tuberose loses its heaviness and the sandalwood comes up, and it becomes soft, warm and close. A pool deck at nine at night is arguably its perfect environment.

Not an office fragrance in summer. It is a night-out, cooler-months, get-noticed choice, and it collects compliments freely. Marketed as unisex and worn that way, though the sweetness leans feminine on most skin.
