City Rhythm 2654 Extrait Parfum 3.4 oz 100 ml
Two City Rhythm scents welded into one. The number is the road distance between San Diego and Miami, and the fragrance splits the difference between a Pacific coastline and an Atlantic one. It opens sunny and salty - coconut and lime pushed forward by blood orange, with juniper berries adding a dry gin-like snap and a sea salt accord doing exactly what you would hope. The middle is where it gets rich: sugar cane and almond over Moroccan jasmine, nutmeg and apricot-skinned osmanthus. The base is straight beach bar - rum, ambergris, tonka, vanilla and a sun-bleached driftwood note.
Top: Coconut, blood orange, lime, juniper berries, heliotrope, sea salt · Heart: Sugar cane, almond, Moroccan jasmine, nutmeg, osmanthus · Base: Rum, ambergris, tonka bean, beachwood, vanilla
Extrait concentration means eight to twelve hours with a heavy, sweet trail for the first three. And here is the thing about wearing a tropical fragrance in the actual tropics: it stops being a fantasy and starts being accurate. Miami humidity makes the coconut and rum read like something you are physically standing next to rather than a memory of a vacation - which is either the best or worst possible argument for it depending on your taste. The salt and juniper up top do a lot of work in the heat, cutting the sweetness so it does not go cloying at noon. Go light. Two sprays on a 90-degree day is plenty; the humidity handles distribution for free.
Summer, obviously. Beach days, boat days, an evening on a terrace, anywhere the dress code involves linen. Too sweet and too loud for most offices. Unisex without qualification.
This one comes as a full bottle only - no decant option on this release - so the honest recommendation is to smell it before you buy. Come to the Miami Gardens shop and spray it, ideally on a day when it is hot outside, because that is the condition this fragrance was designed for.
