Fragrance World offers Divin Asylum as an interpretation inspired by Roja Parfums Elysium, and it is worth stating that plainly: this is not the original and does not present itself as one. What it is on its own terms is a very bright, very green citrus-woody fragrance built on grapefruit, lime and blackcurrant, with a herbal bitterness from thyme, wormwood and galbanum that stops the fruit reading sweet. Under that sits a dry frame of cypress, juniper, cedar and vetiver, and the finish brings in vanilla, benzoin, leather and incense for warmth.

Expect five to seven hours, which is respectable for something this citrus-driven, with strong projection across the first ninety minutes. Miami is the natural habitat for this style. Fresh green citrus fragrances tend to feel thin and underpowered in cold weather and come alive in heat, and this is exactly that - on a humid morning it reads crisp and almost cold against the skin, a real contrast to the air around you. The tradeoff is speed. The grapefruit and lime phase is short here, perhaps forty minutes before the blackcurrant and woods take over. A midday reapplication is entirely reasonable, and this is the sort of fragrance nobody objects to you refreshing.

Daytime, spring and summer, which in this city covers most of the calendar. Fully office-safe. Good for the gym-to-errands stretch, good over lunch, good at the beach. Masculine-leaning without being exclusively so.

This one comes as a full bottle only, so the way to know is to smell it in person - come by the Miami Gardens shop and wear it out the door for a few minutes. Heat will tell you more about a fresh fragrance in five minutes than a test strip can in an hour.
