Bergamot and grapefruit set it up with a sparkling citrus flash, then orange blossom and neroli arrive and soften everything, turning what could have been a sharp scent into something rounder and more floral. The ginger returns amplified in the middle rather than fading out, which is unusual, and it is the reason this stands apart from the pile of fresh citrus parfums. The ending is clean: skin-like musk and ambrette, with that velvety soft warmth ambrette gives, and no heaviness at all.

Parfum concentration gives it more staying power than the freshness suggests - seven to nine hours, with the musky base clinging quietly at the end. In Miami the citrus opening burns off fast, as citrus always does when the dew point sits in the seventies, but ginger is unusually humidity-resistant and carries the fragrance through the afternoon on its own. Orange blossom does the opposite: it swells in the heat and can turn heady and indolic by mid-afternoon if you have oversprayed. Three sprays maximum in summer. On a breezy evening near the water it is close to perfect.

A genuine year-round option here, strongest in spring and summer and in daylight. Office-safe and pleasant in close quarters. Good for work, brunch, a first date, or anything where the goal is to smell fresh without smelling generic.
