Black pepper cracks the opening with sea lavender behind it, dry and slightly herbal, more shoreline scrub than florist. The heart is the part people remember: a salty coconut water accord, thin and clear rather than creamy or suntan-lotion sweet, with iris giving it a cool powdered edge. Underneath, vanilla and incense do the closing work, the vanilla soft and almost savoury, the incense keeping a wisp of smoke over everything so it never turns into dessert. Lattafa built it around the island itself, and the reference lands - spice trade, salt air, wood smoke.

Where a heavy amber turns syrupy on a humid afternoon, the salt-and-iris core here stays crisp and the coconut reads as water rather than sunscreen. Expect seven to nine hours on skin with an assertive first hour, then a long, close, smoky-vanilla trail that sits about an arm away instead of filling a room. Heat brings the incense up rather than burning it off, so the fragrance gets slightly darker across the day - the opposite of what most summer scents do. It is also one of the rare Lattafa releases that does not become cloying when you sweat.
