Underneath sits a praline sweetness and a big amberwood core, and the finish is ambergris, oakmoss, cedarwood and fir resin. Longevity is the headline. Twelve hours is not an exaggeration, and clothing holds it for days. In South Florida it is a fragrance that demands restraint, because ambergris-type materials and praline sweetness both expand dramatically with heat and moisture. A spray count that felt moderate in an air-conditioned bedroom is overwhelming by the time you have crossed a parking lot in Miami Gardens in August. One spray. Maybe two in December. The upside is that the saffron stays legible in humidity, which keeps this from collapsing into generic sweetness the way thinner ambers do by mid-afternoon.

Cool evenings, occasions, and anywhere being remembered is the point. Unisex, though it develops noticeably differently from one person's skin to the next. Not an office fragrance and definitely not a beach fragrance. Our short winter nights were made for it.
